Naval War College Monterey Recognizes Summer Quarter Top Students

The Naval War College Monterey program for Joint Professional Military Education recognized 12 individuals for completing the program at the top of their class, Oct. 26, including, from left, Army Maj. Morgan Martin, Lt. Nicholas Hutton, Lt. Nathan Redder, Army Maj. John Waits, and Marine Corps Maj. Jonathan Thomas.

The U.S. Naval War College (NWC) Monterey program for Joint Professional Military Education (JPME) recognized 12 graduates from the Summer Quarter class of AY2021 for academic honors during a brief ceremony near the program offices, Oct. 26.

Graduates earning “with Highest Distinction” honors by completing the program in the top five percent of the class are Navy Lt. Nathan C. Redder, Marine Corps Capt. Jonathan D. Monti and Army Maj. John B. Waits.

Graduates earning “with Distinction” honors by completing the program in the top 15 percent of the class include Navy Cmdr. Philip D. Pretzinger; Navy Lt. Cmdrs. Brandon M. Beckler, and Michael J. Hicks; Navy Lts. Nicholas J. Hutton and David C. Nygren; Marine Corps Maj. Jonathan R. Thomas; and, Army Majs. Sean P. Donnelly, Jacob D. Groves and Morgan A. Martin.

Through the NPS-NWC partnership, a total of 6,137 officers have earned their Joint Professional Military Education Phase I certification since the program’s inception in September 1999.
