A total of 248 graduates, including U.S. and international military officers, and DOD civilians, completed their studies this quarter earning a total of 250 degrees. The 2024 Fall Quarter class includes 96 U.S. Navy; 30 U.S. Marine Corps; 44 U.S. Army; 34 U.S. Air Force; and 1 U.S. Coast Guard; 14 U.S. DOD Civilian (12 Distance Learning); 2 Navy Reserve National Guard; and 27 international graduates representing 18 countries.

The Hon. Leon Panetta, 23rd Secretary of Defense and former Director of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), recognized the accomplishments of the most recent graduating class as the Naval Postgraduate School (NPS) celebrated its 2024 Fall Quarter graduates during a commencement ceremony, Dec. 18. Panetta served as the keynote speaker for the ceremony honoring 248 graduates who earned a total of 250 degrees.
2024 Fall Graduates Profile - Lts. Adam Summers and Jordan Whittle, U.S. Navy
The Fall Quarter graduating class of 248 new NPS alumni includes U.S. Navy Lt. Adam Summers and U.S. Navy Lt. Jordan Whittle, whose classified thesis research racked up an impressive five quarterly student awards, including the Surface Navy Association’s Award for Excellence in Surface Warfare Research.
2024 Fall Graduate Profile - Maj. Andrew Van Genderen, U,.S. Air Force
“I don’t know of any other program anywhere in the military where the opportunity exists to engage with so many officers from so many backgrounds,” said U.S. Air Force Maj. Andrew Van Genderen, who will celebrate the completion of his NPS studies with his peers during the 2024 Fall Quarter graduation ceremony tomorrow, Dec. 18. Van Genderen will receive his NPS degree in Security Studies, with a focus on East Asia and the Indo-Pacific. He’s also the recipient of two student awards, taking home both the NPS Superior Service Award as well as the Capt. David S. Bill, Jr. Leadership Award.
2024 Fall Graduate Profile - Gunnery Sgt. Alyssa Falge, U.S. Marine Corp
"One thing I can take from what this experience has taught me is the ability to think with a strategic-level mindset,” said U.S. Marine Corps Gunnery Sgt. Alyssa Falge, graduating this week from NPS’ Department of Defense Management with a master’s degree in logistics management.
